We know that genetic testing sampling can be done by blood collection, but did you know that saliva can also be used? And saliva is the most convenient way to collect DNA samples for genetic sampling, followed by blood. Nowadays, it is popular to collect saliva samples for testing, which is painless and non-invasive, and people's acceptance rate is also very high, and it is easier to collect saliva freely compared to blood collection.

Methods/steps.

①. Before collecting DNA samples, do not chew food, drink tea or alcohol, smoke or chew gum for 30 minutes before collecting saliva DNA samples. Do not remove the plastic film of the funnel cover, relax your cheeks before spitting saliva and gently rub for 30 seconds to produce saliva. In promoting the cell oral mucosa shedding, spitting saliva, saliva DNA sample sampling tube.

②, be careful to gently spit out the saliva secreted in the mouth to the oval collection port of the saliva collector, and collect saliva is try not to produce too much foam.

③. Collect saliva until the laminar interface between the saliva and the upper layer of foam in the sampling tube reaches the scale line shown in 2 ml.

④, fix the sampling tube with preserved liquid evenly on the oval sampling port with a slight clicking sound when fixing, meanwhile, if the preserved liquid flows evenly into the sampling tube, it means the cap is closed. Otherwise, gently open the cap of the sampling tube and pour the preservation solution evenly into

⑤. Invert the DNA saliva collector up and down, shake well, and confirm that the liquid reaches the scale of 4ml, which means the sampling is finished

Caution:
First of all, DNA is extracted not from saliva itself, but through the exfoliated cells contained in saliva. Therefore, when collecting saliva samples, please try to scrape the upper and lower jaws with your tongue several times, while scraping a little bit of your tongue with your teeth to ensure the number of exfoliated cells. It is recommended that there is no behavior that affects the success rate of sampling such as eating, drinking, or smoking in the past 30 minutes, and that sampling occurs first thing in the morning to ensure the success rate of sampling.

Please note that you must not rinse your mouth with mouthwash before sampling.

The saliva collector is used for environmental collection, preservation and transport of DNA in saliva samples at room temperature. The DNA liquid stabilizer inside the sampling tube can preserve saliva DNA at room temperature for 2 years and is suitable for a variety of DNA extraction and purification kits. In addition, the saliva collection process is extremely easy.
