What is an oral swab, how is it collected, and are the results the same as a blood test?
Oral swab collection, the specific steps.
1. Prepare a medical swab (single-ended), put it into the mouth, wipe the buccal mucosa (inside of the cheek) from the mouth more than 20 times, remove the swab and put it on clean white paper to shade dry.
2. Collect 5 swabs in the same way. Put them in a clean paper envelope after they are cooled and dried.
3. Please do not forget to mark the samples. Do not have physical contact with other people. To avoid contact with other DNA, the samples collected by the above method can be stored in a dry environment for 2-3 months.
The accuracy of the identification results is the same regardless of the type of sample collected. Because sample collection is only the extraction of DNA from it, and each person's DNA is constant for life, the accuracy of the identification results is the same even if different samples are collected.
