Virus Transport Medium (VTM) is a second-generation virus transport kit with dual roles of virus inactivation and nucleic acid stabilization. It has the following features

1. Instant inactivation of virus, no secondary contamination. 2.

2. 0.6mL reservoir solution, 5 times smaller and 5 times more sensitive. 3.

3. 2mL storage tubes are used so that the sample wall does not contaminate the pipette. 4.

4. No significant degradation of nucleic acid at 4℃-25℃ for 4 days, convenient for express delivery. 5.

5. Suitable for various DNA viruses and RNA viruses. 6.

6. Compatible with most column extracts and magnetic bead extracts. 7.

7. more cost effective. 8.

8. The virus in this product has been inactivated in the preservation solution and cannot be used for virus culture. 9.

9. This product can only be used for scientific research.

The operator must take appropriate precautions in accordance with the method of handling infectious samples and must perform all operations in a laboratory that complies with national regulations.

1. label the sampling tube with the relevant sample information before sampling.

2. Use sampling swabs to sample the appropriate sites and organs according to the different sampling requirements. Specific sampling methods

are as follows.

a) Nasal swab: insert the swab head gently into the nasal tract at the nasal palate, stay for a moment and then slowly rotate to exit.

b) Pharyngeal swab: swab the tonsils and posterior pharyngeal wall bilaterally and then withdraw.

c) Urethral sampling: male: insert the swab into the urethra at about 2 cm and rotate it, leave it for a few seconds and then withdraw it. Women: wipe away the mucus from the cervical orifice, insert the swab 1-2 cm into the cervical canal and withdraw.

d) Other swab sampling: not detailed in this manual. 3.

3. quickly place the swab into this sampling tube (with virus transport solution). 4.

4. Break the sampling swab at the break, discard the handle end, and screw the cap on tightly.

5. Freshly collected specimens should be transported to the laboratory within 96 hours (4 days) at 4°C-25°C. Specimens that cannot be transported to the laboratory within 96 hours should be stored at or below -70°C. DNA samples can also be stored at -20°C. Nucleic acid extraction should be performed as soon as possible after the specimen is delivered to the laboratory, and can be stored at 4°C if nucleic acid extraction can be performed within 24 hours; if not, it should be stored at -70°C or below, and DNA samples can also be stored at -20°C.

6. Nucleic acid purification and testing: Nucleic acid purification and testing are carried out with self-provided liquid sample nucleic acid purification kits, and unused samples need to be stored at -70℃ or below. We provide single-use virus sampling tubes (inactivated/non-inactivated)

Note: Since viruses are infectious, all waste during the experiment needs to be disposed of as infectious material.

Operators must also be protected accordingly.
