The oral swab is a (similar to our daily swab except it is a product used to extract DNA) will be inserted into the oral cavity, swabbed back and forth in the lining of the mouth several times, packaged and sent to the testing facility for testing.

The principle is to collect the oral epithelial mucosal cells, by detecting the DNA in these cells to complete the DNA identification.

Oral Swab

Oral Swab has developed a product that collects microbial DNA from saliva. It is an all-in-one system that allows for the collection, stabilization, transport and purification of DNA from saliva, providing a painless, risk-free way to collect microbial DNA for disease control and prevention.

Oral swabs have the same test data as blood, are painless, very scientific and credible, and many genetic companies are recommending the use of oral mucosa. Oral swabs have been shown in numerous clinical trials abroad that nylon flocked swabs have better collection and delivery of clinical biological samples than ordinary sterile swabs, especially for those samples that cannot be delivered in a timely manner and are placed for too long.

Sampling swabs can be divided into pharyngeal swabs, oral swabs, DNA swabs, cervical swabs according to different purposes, which can be used by various laboratory testing centers and hospitals.

Oral swabs are used in the following ways.

1. 30 minutes before sampling, do not eat, smoke, drink alcohol, etc.

(1) Prepare a glass of water and drink about 50 ml of water to fully rinse the mouth for about 10 seconds and spit it out.

(2) Repeat the above steps 2-3 times.

2. Sampling in

(1) Tear open the outer packaging of the oral swab and carefully remove the oral swab (note: hands should not touch the swab part during the whole sampling process).

(2) Hold the handle, stick the swab into the left side of the mouth, make the head of the swab fully contact the mucosa at the inner left cheek/left upper and lower dental bed, rub up and down with the strength of brushing, and at the same time, rotate the swab to make the head of the swab fully contact the oral mucosa, repeat this action for 1 minute.

(3) A second swab was taken in the same way at the mucosa of the right cheek/right upper and lower dental bed.

(4) Place the swab with oral exfoliated cells in a clean and ventilated place for at least one hour until it is dry, and put it back into the collection tube to complete the sampling.

3. After sampling

(1) After filling in your name on the label of the collection tube, put the collection tube into the self-sealing bag, and then register your relevant information: name, gender, age, and date of collection on the front label of the self-sealing bag.

(2) Please fill in the relevant information on the registration form for sending the test carefully. If you choose anonymous testing, please fill in the barcode number on the submission form in your name.

(3) Send the self-sealing bag containing the collection tube and the registration form to the company at room temperature.
