Since this year, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs officially decentralized the mandatory immunization monitoring of avian influenza in Mingchun Valley to Baiyun District, which is carried out by the Baiyun District Animal Health Supervision Institute.

The person in charge of the Institute said that to prevent the occurrence of avian influenza, the key is to achieve timely immunization, should be exempted, do a good job of poultry immunization and sampling monitoring work, timely knowledge of the effectiveness of immunization.

It is understood that the Mingchun Valley is located in Baiyun Mountain Peak Park, which is currently the largest natural bird watching area in China.

Baiyun District Animal Health Supervision staff randomly took saliva and anal secretions of ornamental birds such as parrots, pearl-necked doves and pearl chickens, as well as samples of the living environment of the birds for sampling and monitoring.

Previously, the Mingchun Valley Park had conducted avian influenza vaccination of birds under the guidance of the Baiyun District Animal Health Supervision Institute.

Baiyun District Animal Health Supervision Institute sampled and monitored highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5 and H7 subtypes) pathogens 21 days after immunization. By collecting 10 copies of cloacal-pharyngeal swabs and 5 copies of environmental swabs from birds 21 days after avian influenza vaccination for laboratory monitoring, the park was informed in a timely manner whether the living environment of birds was safe and was guided to do a good job in avian disease prevention and control to protect the health and safety of the public to play.
