Nucleic acid testing is the most effective way to determine if a person is infected with the new coronavirus, and with the increase in the number of people in the epidemic, many people have recently gone to hospitals, CDCs and other institutions to receive nucleic acid testing.

As the old saying goes, "It's harder than it is easy, but it's better than it is fine." In this period when the epidemic is not so stable, we should take it seriously and protect ourselves. Do not be careless and paralyze yourself and relax your vigilance. What do we need to do now to prepare for the nucleic acid test? Can we drink water? Can we eat before we go?

Then we first look at the nucleic acid test the most important focus on the protection of their own people are which?

1. Four key groups of people for nucleic acid testing.

①, people who have cough, fever and other related symptoms

②, those who have recently been to the aggravated area of the epidemic, or those who have been in contact with confirmed cases

③, key job workers such as: medical staff, restaurant service staff, police officers, delivery workers, etc.

④, people in areas with new confirmed cases, and their close contacts should also be taken seriously.

2. Precautions regarding nucleic acid testing.

①. To avoid vomiting, it is recommended not to eat 2 hours before sampling.

Do not smoke, drink alcohol, chewing gum or betel nut until 30 minutes before sampling.

Do not touch the head of the swab with your hand or other objects at any time.

④, during the collection of pharyngeal swabs the detector head back, open the mouth to make "ah ~" sound, which helps to expose the throat, no special discomfort during the sampling process, but some sensitive personnel may experience irritating dry cough, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms, which can be relieved after rest, the subject can cooperate with the collection personnel to try to relax and keep breathing, most of the personnel can avoid discomfort.

⑤. The test subject should wear a good mask, while preparing another clean mask, to maintain a distance of more than 1 meter between people, please do not crowd.

⑥、When accepting pharyngeal swab sampling, remove the mask and fold and encapsulate it in a plastic bag and put it in your pocket, wash your hands immediately after collecting the sample or wipe your hands with non-abrasive alcohol, put on a spare mask, and put the discarded mask into the designated medical waste bin (please do not discard medical waste or spit anywhere)

(⑦) If the choice is to do nasal swabs, the collection personnel should be informed whether the nasal septum is curved and the history of nasal surgery before collecting nasal swabs, and the process may result in nasal soreness and itchiness and stimulate sneezing, which can be immediately covered with tissue or elbow.

⑧. A small amount of nasal bleeding may occur after nasopharyngeal swab collection, which generally does not require special treatment, but please go to the hospital promptly for treatment if the bleeding is large. (Our current general nucleic acid testing is basically done with a pharyngeal swab).

In addition, generally 7-10 days after infection with the new coronavirus, the human body will produce specific antibodies against the virus. The first antibody is IgM antibody, followed by IgG antibody, if you want to determine whether the human body has been infected with the virus, you can detect these specific antibodies through serum antibody testing, and serum antibodies need to draw 2-4mL of venous blood for testing, speaking of which you will not be worried about blood sampling is not to eat breakfast? Don't worry, the test results are not affected by diet or medication, so you can eat your breakfast and then go for the test with confidence, but of course, if you want to do it together with a throat swab, it is not recommended to have a full meal within 2 hours before the throat swab sampling.
