A cervical swab is a small swab (some may be small brushes) used to collect cervical secretions, which are mainly used to find out if the cervix is diseased and if the secretions are normal.

The cervical swab is a sampling brush, in simple words, a very small brush, mainly used to take samples, to understand the cervical and secretion examination to see if it is normal. For example, if you do some cervical examination, you need to take some secretions from the top of the cervix, you can use this, gently brush the cervix to get the secretions, it is not a disease, but a small brush to get samples. Another common medical device for the collection of body fluids and cells in the cervix is a special cervical sampling swab, the initial form of this swab is a simple combination of a grip bar and a vertical brush, by putting the brush deep into the cervix into the collection of cells and body fluids, but this traditional swab has many defects, as a disposable item, if the brush part and the grip bar part can not be separated, then it will waste a lot of As a disposable item, if the brush part cannot be separated from the grip part, a lot of manufacturing material is wasted and the traditional bristles are hard, which can cause discomfort to the patient during collection.

Disposable female swabs, also called cervical swabs, are made of sprayed nylon fluff after gluing on ABS rods. The short nylon fibers act like a soft brush, which can effectively improve the collection of cellular material; the capillary movement between the fibers forms a strong hydraulic pressure, from which the liquid sample is ingested; at the same time, the sample clings to the swab surface and is easily eluted.

Main functions: mostly used for gynecological cervical and vaginal sample collection, TCT test, Pap test

Sampling method of cervical swab:

①, when sampling, if needed, use the swab to wipe away excessive secretions from the cervical opening, then stick the disposable sampling swab into the cervical opening, gently rub the cervical swab and rotate it clockwise for 3~5 turns.

②, Slowly withdraw the disposable sampling swab and place it into the sample tube with cell preservation solution, break the excess swab handle at the mouth of the tube and leave the swab head in the sample tube.

③. Tighten the cap of the tube, record the name and details of the sampled person on the label and paste it on the top of the biosafety bag, put the sample into the biosafety bag and send it for testing in time.
