What is a virus?

Anyone who has read biology knows that viruses are composed of a protein shell and internal genetic material. The genetic material includes DNA and RNA.

A virus consists mainly of genetic material and proteins. It is a form of matter between life and non-life. The genome consists of one or more nucleic acid molecules (DNA or RNA) with a protective outer shell of proteins or lipoproteins.

Since it has no cellular structure, the virus itself cannot replicate, so it needs to genetically invade the host's cells in order to use the latter's replication system to replicate new viruses.

After collection, the sampled swabs are stored in preservation solution or transported for study in order to maintain the viability of the virus sample and prolong the survival of the virus.

Sample requirements

Collected specimens should be delivered to the laboratory within 48 hours at -2-8°C. If they cannot be sent to the laboratory within 48 hours, they should be stored at -70°C or lower. Specimens should be inoculated and isolated as soon as possible after delivery to the laboratory. They can be stored at 2-8°C for 48 hours after inoculation and isolation. If inoculation and isolation are not done in a timely manner, they should be stored below -70°C.

Preventive measures.

1. After collecting pathogenic bacterial specimens, disposable sampling swabs should be fully inserted into the preservation solution to maximize the retention of pathogenic bacteria.

2. Collected specimens must be fresh and sent for timely examination to avoid death of pathogenic bacteria.

3. It is prohibited to use products with broken packaging and expired expiration dates to prevent contamination.

Note: This disposable virus sampling tube is for in vitro diagnosis and should not be used inside or outside the human or animal. If swallowed, it may result in a serious incident; it irritates the eyes and skin. If accidentally splashed in the eyes, flush with water.
