Pharyngeal swab operation process
1、First let the patient sit down, then let the patient tilt his head back, open his mouth wide and clear away the secretions on the inner surface of the anterior nasal orifice.
2、The sampler fixes the patient's tongue with a tongue depressor and crosses the root of the tongue with polyester or calcium alginate to reach the posterior wall of the pharynx and the crypt and lateral wall of the tonsils.
3、Repeatedly wipe 3~5 times to collect mucosal cells.
4、Take the swab out of the mouth slowly, put it into the sampling tube vertically, break the end of the swab and tighten the sampling tube to avoid leakage.
5、Caution: Drinking water before the pharyngeal swab test will dilute the virus attached to the pharynx, especially drinking hot water will also inhibit the activity of the virus, in order to improve the accuracy of the pharyngeal swab nucleic acid test, 15-30 minutes before the test instruct the subject not to drink water, to ensure that the pharyngeal swab nucleic acid test has a high accuracy. Patients with good pharyngeal exposure are not advised to send a long "ah-" to reduce the risk of occupational exposure to the sampler.
Nasal swab operation procedure
1、The sampler stands to the side of the subject to take samples, and requires the subject to pull down the mask to reveal only the nostrils, once the sneeze reflex occurs, the subject can use the elbow or tissue to cover, the sampler is not directly in front of the subject, the risk of exposure is relatively lower.
2、Hold the disposable sampling swab into the nasal cavity, gently rotate the sampling swab in the mucosa of the nasal cavity from the inside out and rotate 3-5 turns from the outside in until the sample is fully absorbed then slowly remove it.
3、After the collection is completed, please take out the nasal sampling swab from inside the nose, put it into the sampling test tube, in the place where there is a fracture mark large this section of the disposable sampling swab handle, cover the sampling test tube cover, tighten and save.
Precautions in the collection
1, please put the swab into the sampling tube vertically, do not wipe to the mouth of the bottle to avoid contamination. Put into the transport box, to deal with put in, so as not to leak liquid.
2、The day the sample is taken is best sent to the laboratory or sent for examination.
3, before sending the test must ensure that the appropriate specimen and the delivery form consistent, the appearance of the sampling tube must indicate the patient's name and basic information, no basic information on the specimen can not be tested. The screening information form, checklist and other information must be submitted for testing (or submitted electronically in advance). The information submitted must be uncontaminated and not placed with the specimen.
