The Virus Sampling Tube is used for the collection of influenza virus, hand, foot and mouth virus, measles and rubella virus and related samples on a daily basis. It is stored and transported for short periods at 2-8°C and stored for long periods in a refrigerator or liquid nitrogen at -80°C.

Specific uses of virus sampling tubes.

1. Virus sampling tubes are typically used for the extraction of nucleic acid samples and subsequent virus isolation, such as influenza virus, hand, foot and mouth virus and rubella virus in clinical patients. The amount of liquid required is typically 35m or 5m. (required for use with nucleic acid test kits and spore media).

2. Virus sampling tubes can be used for the collection and short-term transport of avian influenza viruses in the external environment. The amount of liquid required is usually 6 ml.

3. Virus sampling tubes can be used for routine monitoring and sampling of poultry, pigs and other animals. The amount of liquid required is usually 15m.

4. Virus sampling tubes can be used for short-term storage of virus samples. (48 hours at 2-8°C) to perform necessary cell culture.

5. Virus sampling tubes can be used for long term storage of virus samples (-70°C to -196°C for up to one year) to perform necessary cell cultures.

6. Virus sampling tubes can be used to collect clinical respiratory virus rapid test kits.

7. Virus sampling tubes can be used to collect clinical samples for Mycoplasma, Chlamydia and Ureaplasma.

8. Virus sampling tubes can be used to transfer site-specific tissue specimens from the sampling location to the testing laboratory for the necessary cell culture.
